Kevin Wellman is the Chief Executive Officer of The Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering. The Institute’s primary objectives are to protect the health and safety of the public and the environment by ensuring that the public can access properly qualified plumbing and heating engineering professionals. It encourages high standards and continuing education within the industry and there is an independent complaints procedure which is both open and transparent. This protects both the public and the installer in the event of disputes over technical competence. The Institute has a track record of applying technical excellence for over 100 years. Kevin has been involved in the industry for over 30 years. He is a Fellow of the CIPHE and a Master Plumber Certificate holder. Over the course of these blog posts Kevin takes a frank view on events and issues in the world of plumbing and heating engineering.
